Consortium

The ICE consortium consists of 6 partners with complementary qualities and technological profiles and equal representation from the business and academic sector (two Businesses and four University partners). The project providers have international technological excellence in individual areas, complementary know-how and have previously collaborated in RTD actions. The entities have limited and non-competitive business activities and are committed to the joint exploitation of results where there is a business opportunity.

The research team includes highly specialized researchers in the fields of Electronics, hardware management algorithms and embedded systems design, network application development (PRISMA and AUTh-EL), augmented reality and mobile application development (AETMA) and the study and analysis of cultural heritage data with emphasis on the religious monuments of Christianity and Islam (AUTH-TTH, DUTH and MOHA). The skills of the researchers involved demonstrate a high degree of complementarity and ensure the cohesion of the teams and the quick and smooth start of collaborative research activities. The presence of PRISMA with the existing XENAGOS system (use in museums and generally closed spaces) and MOHA, which deals with the promotion of cultural heritage and its commercial/tourist exploitation, ensures the future development of the cooperation of institutions with emphasis on their dynamic entry into the tourism market, intercultural and interreligious tourism. The objectives of the project have been set by AETMA in collaboration with AUTh-TTH. PRISMA will be responsible for the specifications – system architecture and sensors, the integration of the ICE system with the XENAGOS platform, the pilot operation, system calibration and evaluation, the intellectual property and commercial, for the system promotion and support actions as well as in and in collaboration with AETMA and AUTh-EL will analyze the technical specifications and the architecture of the overall system. The companies will jointly exploit its results. The partners will jointly explore copyright protection and PRISMA will participate in trade fairs to promote the ICE system as a valuable tool for showrooms. AUTh-TTH and DUTH in collaboration with MOHA will ensure the optimal collection and utilization of tangible and intangible heritage. All academic institutions have top researchers and infrastructures, with many years of specialization in the research challenges of the project.
